The team that created the “Impokophelo” augmented reality mural engaged young people who have been involved in drug abuse to tell their stories and share their aspirations for the future. South African youth recounted their experiences through interviews and creative drawing workshops. The stories were used to create a large wall-sized mural of an African astronaut reaching for the stars. Embedded in the mural was augmented reality elements which brought the character to life with the video stories. The team believed that any individual, regardless of their situation, has the ability to DREAM!
