Automated multi-sensor technology to monitor sea water quality
The Sea Sense group developed an automated multi-sensor technology to monitor sea water quality (pH, temperature, dissolved oxygen, and turbidity), complete with a pumping machine to extract seawater sampled 10-15 feet deep. The data gathered can be translated into meaningful information for fishermen to monitor fish productivity in Banilad Marine Sanctuary. This project is also useful for local climate researchers, who can share their findings to prepare the community for potential impacts of climate change.
